Mascarillas sobre fondo anaranjado

At the beginning of a new school term in a pandemic scenario, Crandon’s Principals of Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary sent the new protocols to the students’ families. These documents specify the rules for each sector, and they are in accordance with the advice that the Sistema Nacional de Emergencias (SINAE) has broadcasted to prevent the disease in schools.

According to the experts, in order to take care of ourselves, teachers and students must continue following these recommendations:
―Regular hand-washing
―Using alcohol hand gel
―Using face masks
―Coughing or sneezing into the crook of the elbow
―Avoiding touching the head
―Not sharing glasses, bottles, cutlery, towels or any kind of personal belongings
―Greeting others with the elbow or the fist
―Keeping physical distance
―Keeping rooms ventilated
―Staying at home and seeing the doctor if symptoms appear

To suppress transmission, the use of masks is crucial, so the World Health Organization has published a few recommendations for their proper handling:
―Clean hands before putting the mask on, as well as before and after taking it off, and after touching it at any time
―Make sure the mask covers nose, mouth and chin
―When a mask is taken off, it must be stored in a clean plastic bag. If the mask is made of fabric it should be washed every day; if it’s a medical one it should be disposed of.

The adherence to these recommendations and the start of the vaccination are the keys that will enable classes in-person according to the educational authorities and the health experts. As the vaccination has already started, and we count on the commitment of Crandon´s community, we have a real possibility of enjoying an outstanding year.
