The groups of 4 and 5 year olds of Early Childhood and first and second year olds of EBI (Educación Básica Integrada, Primary) attended a theatre performance entirely in English.

In two performances, which took place on Wednesday 21 August at Graff Hall, The Company Educational Drama staged The Wonderful Lamp. The play is an adaptation of Aladdin and the Magic Lamp, a story that is believed to originate in One Thousand and one Nights, a collection of Middle Eastern folk tales. 

Aladdin ‘s adventures in The Wonderful Lamp have been re-imagined for educational purposes by Juan Luis Granato, Uruguayan author and founder of The Company. The staging includes Activity Packs with songs and Teacher ‘s Notes written by the experienced Uruguayan actor, EFL teacher and writer José Luis Morales with quality visuals by Sebastián Santana. 

Therefore, the story of Aladdin and Jasmine started weeks before and will continue in each classroom with the songs and the adventures of all the characters.

The previous activities and especially the performance at Graff Hall called the attention of the children. The scenography, the lights, the songs (already known) promoted a close link with the audience. The applause and amazement were constant.
